Oncology is a brand of medicine that focuses on the study diagnosis, treatment, care for a variety of cancer condition. An oncologist is medical doctor who is trained and specialises in diagnosing and treating cancer. Some oncologists specialize in specific type of cancer.

The best cancer treatment should be evaluated according to the type, stage, location of the tumour, and patient’s condition. Common cancer therapy including surgery, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy. These therapies are often used in combination for the best outcome.

Cancer can be diagnosed through a combination of tests such as CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, bone scans, biopsy, endoscopy, mammograms, and more. Different types of cancer have their own diagnostic tests.

Some cancers have lower cure rates and are more challenging to treat, especially in advanced stages, including liver, stomach, and brain cancer.
