Safety Week 2026: Let’s Ensure a Healthy Psychosocial Working Environment

Island Hospital successfully concluded Safety Week 2026: Let’s Ensure a Healthy Psychosocial Working Environment, a meaningful week-long programme dedicated to promoting workplace safety, health awareness, mental well-being, and environmental responsibility among our staff. 🌱✨

The programme was officially launched by YBhg. Encik Shaharuddin bin Mohd Ali, Timbalan Pengarah, Jabatan Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan (JKKP) Pulau Pinang, alongside our CEO, Ms Lim Kooi Ling, marking the beginning of a series of informative and engaging activities held throughout the week.

Throughout Safety Week 2026, our staff had the opportunity to participate in insightful sharing sessions conducted by esteemed speakers and organisations, including:
✅ “Garis Panduan Pentaksiran Dan Pengurusan Risiko Psikososial Di Tempat Kerja 2024 (PRiSMA)” by Dr. Rajkumar a/l Vejayan from DOSH
✅ “Keselamatan Kebakaran” by officers from Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia (JBPM)
✅ “Skim Bencana Pekerjaan” by Muhammad Ambia Bin Abdullah and Norlela Binti Aripin from PERKESO
✅ “Kerana Dirimu Begitu Berharga” by Nur Jannah Binti Mohd Radzi from LPPKN
✅ “Mental Resiliency” by Dr. Sharifah Hildah Shahab from Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Pulau Pinang

The programme also featured a variety of educational and interactive awareness booths organised by different teams and agencies, covering important topics such as firefighting systems and fire safety equipment, environmental sustainability and microplastics awareness, food safety, hand hygiene and infection prevention, CPR awareness, emergency response skills, and safe workplace practices including the “No Handphone While Walking” campaign.

These activities served as valuable reminders on the importance of maintaining not only physical safety, but also mental resilience, emotional well-being, and a supportive working environment.

Island Hospital would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all speakers, participating organisations, internal teams, and staff members for their active participation and continuous support in making Safety Week 2026 a meaningful and impactful programme.

Together, we remain committed to fostering a safer, healthier, and more resilient workplace for all — part of the IHH Healthcare multinational network. 💙
