Island Hospital was honoured to host the Oncology Safety Program: Mastering Closed System Infusion with Cyto-Set in collaboration with B. Braun and Aesculap Academy, welcoming healthcare professionals from across the region for a valuable exchange of knowledge and best practices in oncology safety.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr Koo Jian Wei, Chief Operating Officer of Island Hospital, who introduced the hospital’s services and infrastructure. This was followed by Mr. Ooi Gim Chee, Head of Cancer Centre, who shared the Cancer Centre’s mission and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality in cancer care.
The educational sessions continued with Ms. Lee Ying Ying, Oncology Pharmacist, and Matron Cheah Koon Hwa, Assistant Director of Nursing, who presented on advocating change and empowering sustainable initiatives to strengthen safety practices in oncology care.
Participants also toured Island Hospital’s Oncology Daycare, Oncology Pharmacy, and Radiotherapy Department, gaining first-hand insights into the hospital’s clinical workflows, safety protocols, and multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment.
