Junior Doctor Day: Inspiring Young Minds in Healthcare

Island Hospital successfully hosted Junior Doctor Day on 8 March 2025, welcoming enthusiastic young participants aged 5 to 9 years old to explore the fascinating world of medicine. The event aimed to introduce children to the healthcare profession through engaging, hands-on experiences that foster curiosity and learning.

Participants had the opportunity to visit five interactive stations, each designed to provide insight into different medical fields:

• Paediatrics & Endocrinology – Learning about child health and growth development.
• Dentistry – Understanding the importance of oral hygiene through fun demonstrations.
• Nursing – Gaining basic knowledge of human body organs and their functions.
• Dietitian Services – Exploring healthy eating habits for overall well-being.
• Ophthalmology – Discovering eye care tips and the importance of vision health.

The event was well received, with over 70 junior doctors and parents joining in the activities. Through interactive role-playing and engaging demonstrations, children gained a greater appreciation of the healthcare profession while having an enjoyable learning experience.
