Our experts at the Island Hospital’s Movement Disorders Centre use a variety of techniques to help Parkinson’s patients improve their quality of life. Treatment varies for each individual, but may include medication or Deep Brain Stimulation.

 

Our team has extensive experience in using Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) technique to treat patients with Parkinson’s disease, Dystonia and essential tremor. This surgical technique has been demonstrated to relieve tremors and other motor dysfunctions such as rigidity and balance problems. Island Hospital is the only hospital in the northern region of Malaysia that provides Deep Brain Stimulation surgery.
