Heartbeat Matters Public Forum

On Saturday, 26 July 2025, Island Hospital proudly hosted the Heartbeat Matters Public Forum at our Penang campus—a meaningful heart-to-heart session with the community focused on heart health awareness.

Dr. Ma Soot Keng, Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist, delivered an insightful talk on “Sudden Death,” highlighting its causes, risk factors, and prevention.

Dr. Sotheenathan Krishinan, Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon, walked attendees through “What is CABG?” (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting), breaking down this important heart procedure in an easy-to-understand way.

The forum ended with an engaging Q&A session, where attendees asked thoughtful questions and received expert guidance—making it a truly interactive and educational experience.
