Island Hospital successfully concluded two days of pre-congress activities in conjunction with the 11th International MSS Scientific Congress.
On the first day, we hosted an exciting live stream from the operating theatre at Macalister Wing, viewed by participants in the Seminar Hall at Level 12, Peel Wing. The highlight of the day was the live surgery performed by Dr. John Choi, Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon from Spine Ortho, Melbourne, Australia, and Prof. Dato’ Dr. Oh Kim Soon, Island Hospital’s Consultant Orthopaedic & Spine Surgeon, demonstrating cutting-edge techniques in robotic spine surgery using ExcelsiusGPS. We are honored to have doctors from various hospitals join us, enhancing their knowledge and skills in robotic spine surgery.
On the second day of the pre-congress events, the morning session featured a presentation by Riff Raff Pain Cast titled “Epiduroscopy: A New Way to Treat Lumbar Spinal Stenosis.” This was followed by a live stream from the operating theatre in the Macalister Wing, where Dr. Lim Heng Hing, an Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon from Gleneagles Medical Centre, along with Prof. Dr. Oh Kim Soon from Island Hospital, performed the procedure.
In the afternoon session, Medtronic presented on “Innovations in Interventional Spine Care: Spinal Cord Stimulation.” Attendees had the opportunity to watch a live stream of the procedure performed by Prof. Dr. Oh Kim Soon, observed by Prof. Dr. Bunpot Sitthinamsuwan, Professor and Consultant Neurosurgeon from Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand.
